We diagnose broken springs, damaged cables, worn rollers, track problems, noisy movement, uneven travel, and doors that will not open or close correctly.
Explore Garage Door RepairWe troubleshoot motors, remotes, wall controls, safety sensors, travel settings, drive systems, and the connection between the opener and the door.
Explore Garage door opener serviceWhen a door is extensively damaged or no longer fits the home, we measure the opening and explain construction, insulation, window, and finish choices.
Explore Garage door installationWe serve Monona homes along Monona Drive, near Winnequah Road, and around the South Towne area. We check springs, cables, tracks, and the opener together to help you choose the right repair for your door.
What makes Monona distinct is how consistent the housing is. Almost the entire city went up in the post-war decades, so the standard Monona garage is a modest one-car or narrow two-car from the 1950s or 60s, sometimes widened since, often with hardware that has outlived several roofs. Original tracks with sixty winters on them, steel doors on their third spring set, openers older than the drivers they let out. It's honest, fixable equipment, and we'd usually rather repair it than talk you into a new door, but when a panel from 1958 finally folds, we'll show you the math on both options.
We're not a call center with a map. Twins Garage Doors is a Madison family company run out of our own shop, and Monona is part of the regular route. There's a good chance we've already worked on a door on your street.
Living next to a lake is wonderful for most of the year and mildly corrosive for all of it. Lake Monona keeps the air here damper than a subdivision on a hilltop, and damp plus sixty-year-old steel plus a winter's worth of road salt off Monona Drive is how tracks pit, hinges seize, and cables fray from the inside out. On older Monona garages we always inspect the cables when we're in for anything else, because a rust-weakened cable doesn't give warnings, it just lets go.

Just got a full garage door and motor replacement and their service was outstanding. From the estimate to the completion of the work. Communication was perfect called and were on time when said they…
Nicholas was very friendly and professional. He replaced parts for my garage door and installed a new opener on the same day that I got the estimate! Highly recommend this business!
A very good experience throughout the entire process. Our CLASSIC STEEL PREMIUM looks fantastic and very quiet too. Charles was great to work with from initial contact through replacement of the door.

Usually yes, and often for far less than a replacement. Springs, cables, rollers, and hinges for older doors are standard stock on our trucks. The honest exception is a failing wood or early steel panel, where we'll price the repair and the replacement side by side and let you pick.
Damp lake air plus winter road salt accelerates corrosion on steel cables and tracks, and cables fail from the inside where you can't see it. On older Monona garages we inspect cables on every visit. A cable repair runs $375 to $700; a snapped cable with a car under the door costs more than money.
Twice a year: lubricate rollers, hinges, and springs with garage door lube (not WD-40), rinse salt residue off the bottom seal and tracks in spring, and test the safety reverse with a scrap of wood. Leave spring and cable adjustments to us, or let a $49 tune-up cover the whole checklist.
